Hi PHers type,

So as I know some of you have dealt with, my Vantage (2012 V8S) battery has been giving me headaches, and definitely needs a replacement soon. I try my best to tender the battery, but it recently died after just 3 (warm) days in the garage!

From past experience, I made sure to always have a backup plan (either hood open or car unlocked), definitely dont want the bat to die with the car locked, as many of us don't have the mechanical key.

I read elsewhere, that some vantages (maybe DB9's as well?) had an emergency hood release accessible outside a locked car, not sure if this applies to my car? (or where I can locate it? lol)

Anyone have any idea what this is? (pictured below) I don't think its one of the parking sensors?

Additionally, any recommendations for non-oem replacement battery for the V8S?

Thanks for your time guys smile

That looks like the external temperature sensor. As far as I’m aware there’s way to open the bonnet/hood externally.

As Bigmig said that is the external temperature sensor and afaik there is no external bonnet/hood release

There is though the silver key access adjacent to the door handle which will open the car in the event if a flat battery so you open bonnet/hood as normal or access battery to replace

OP indicates does not have a mechanical key.

I don't know what to do, apart from ring a dealer.

Thanks for the answers guys!

Hopefully a new battery takes some of the paranoia away!

If you need to get to the battery, its behind the passenger seat.

Behind the seat ?
Hold on. We are not inside the car yet. Flat battery and no mechanical door key.

Wonder what the next step is?
