Key is real crystal?

I have the fancy crystal key with my 2015 V8 Vantage S, but the crystal bit seems more like plastic to me. I tap it with my fingernail and it seems like thick clear acrylic rather than class or crystal.

Is this really crystal?

Try dropping it and you'll see it's 100% crystal and smashes like it too

I've got 3 of those keys and none of them feel like acrylic to me.

Isn't the key glass? I can't imagine it is 'crystal', and assume that moniker is merely marketing hype.

it definitely chips and leaves sharp edges just like glass - not plastic.

It will be a Crystal glass key, crystal glass is a high clarity type of glass.
