Unbelievable, I have to get new discs and pads for the rear, new tyres for the rear, new wheel centres all round and she’s overdue the annual service... that’s all fine, but shut the passenger door just now and bang!

And the headlamp washer cover detached itself a couple of days ago frown

Very strange and I have no idea at the moment if it’s covered on the insurance...
Apologies for the sideways photo...

Is the passenger window dropping when you open the door? Could be the airpressure make it go pop?

Really? I have never owned a car where the windows drop when you close the door (and also not an AM), and I have still never managed to burst the windscreens out!

I seem to remember that when I first came on this forum a number of years ago this was reported on some DB9’s and IIRC it was something to do with the heater element in the rear window.

Must have been a hell of a sock when it happened yikes

Possibly the same, I had a similar thing happen on a smart car.

In that case it was the rear window element overheating as the switch haddnt turned off the element after the perscribed time.

It was a hell of a bang and I was covered in glass

Possibly the same

Thanks for the replies and sentiments guys... I can confirm the passenger window does drop when the door is opened.. I've not used the heated rear screen since last winter... The mystery remains.. scratchchin

Last time I saw this happen was when a colleague slammed the tailgate onto a sofa that wasn't quite in. hehe (That was a Renault 21 Estate, so I'd imagine the repair was a bit cheaper.

Bad luck frown

It's the car telling you it is time to change for a new TVR.

I thought most "windscreen" cover covers all windows?

In the UK we'll be in electric vehicles before that particular unicorn turns up

Heard this happen on TVRs at high speeds. A Google on that might reveal the reason. Something to do with pressure.

Hmmm... I did just that loading a sofa into my mates estate (VW I think) about 25 years ago! Wasn’t quite in when I slammed tailgate down! He forgave me and we remained friends!
