Dealer has quoted me £600+ to fit and replace a set of rear pads.

I have found these for £124 online, can someone confirm these are the correct fitment or are there any better alternatives?

https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/p/pagid-brake-pad-...

Is there anything else I need to purchase I.e the sensors, etc?

Thanks in advance for any advice

They look correct and are a direct replacement OEM part. They should be RS 4-2-2 pads. You will only need sensors if yours have tripped or you break them when replacing the pads.

Yep, pretty normal quote from dealer. I did my own last time too. Used EBC which was a mistake as even with all the anti squeal pads etc they still squeal. Pagids or Porterfield next time.

Did you use EBC Yellowstuff?

I currently have YellowStuff, and while I made some mistakes that produced squealing (like forgetting to add the anti-squeal padding), now they still are slightly noisy.

I used YellowStuff and they were fine but wore quickly. I now use BlueStuff and they also are fine (just changed the fronts half an hour ago, will do rears at the weekend) and the last set did not squeal at all. Just a rub of copper grease on the back before you tap them in. Very easy pad change, just use a small screwdriver to ease out the sensors from the pad and make sure they are the right type so fit tightly back in.

I always used to use copper grease too, but I have read it's not a good idea in a high performance system as it is such a good heat conductor.

I found some CRC Anti squeal spray on stuff instead.

Interesting, hadn't heard that, but you live and learn! I always used copper slip - Porsche, Alfa etc - and as the brake pistons are pressed hard into the backing (anti-squeal) plate can't think it'll make a massive difference? The stuff I'm using now has very little copper actually in it! Got through a set of front BlueStuff in a day on the track and had no fade or problems at all so the heat isn't boiling my DOT 4 (the Castrol React Performance stuff Aston use in their workshops) with some firm braking...! I do cool them down etc so they don't get heat-soaked.

Speaking of brakes, I have found a proper local engineering shop, they were rebuilding a Buggati engine when I popped in. They resurfaced my discs, taking off next to nothing, for £55 each. Yes, I know they're cheap anyway but I'd rather save the metal and keep them employed!

Pads are very easy to change on the Vantage, and as mentioned, the sensors are reusable if they haven’t been triggered (and are quite expensive).

I recently switched to Porterfield R4-S which work very well as road pads (very little dust, and no squeal).
