Apple CarPlay on 2008 AMV8
Discussion
I assumed the integrated hub u mentioned is the SatNav, which is out dated and frankly a white elephant in the car.
I took out the SatNav, patch away the hole and spray the centre console piece. The installer customised a hole for the screen while hiding the DIN below the area where the SatNav used to sit in.

Hi Guys. Just wanna share with you guys the customisation work done only my 2008 AMV8. Managed to install a Pioneer 9350BT on the centre console with a 9” screen.
It won’t block the view and right now, Spotify and Google Map are great to use and view. 100% would recommend!
Nice, but I would like an official solution, like a fixed cost to upgrade screen and internals to Car Play/Android Auto directly from AM, similarly to what Porsche is offering for the classic 911s, without the need to add external buttons, controllers, cables... everything is operated as always.

Hi. Let me answer the questions posted.
1. It doesn’t retract back and stay as it is.
2. I wish I could get Aston-installation method but I’m not sure if my garage is able to replicate the kind of installation. Hence I opted for a safer method which the garage is comfortable with.
3. Yeah I’m in Singapore. At 10 years old, u can renew the Certificate of Entitlement (COE) which allows you to drive for another 10 years. The cost changes monthly and I gotten my COE at SGD$35k. Total cost of car with the COE at 10 years old is SGD$155k.
The pain is actually from the yearly road tax, which for this car sits at SGD$5k a year. 🤷🏻♂️
