Greetings everyone I have had a car inspected to buy and it showed leaks from 3 locations everything else was flawless.
The issue of the situation is I can't make a sound decision due to the fact how rare the car is especially with a manual here since we cannot import.
2007 4.3 v8 vantage on 90k km (50k miles). hot and dry climate. was not driven more than 300 km in last 4 years.
Images in order: 1st is I think oil compressor looking at the car's back from the front.
2nd is the same place opposite direction
3rd is apparently the oil sump pipe (this one is scaring me the most to walk away)
4th is the transaxle looking at the front from the back.

None of those would concern me from either an ownership or purchasing perspective.

Are you referring to the amount or the apparent age of the leak or it not being oil in the first place
the locations are quiet close to engine, cooling, and transaxle itself So i was worried knowing the car sat for 4 years and the oil leak is a not so rare common big job

I think the comment about nothing to be concerned about is that they not 'wet' or, at least for the second two cases, are apparently not recent or significant. Most cars have a bit of these at an age, they happen!

From the photos the others look like they are older and very minor, if wiped off they would take a while to manifest themselves again, if ever. Sometimes someone overfilled the oil a bit, seals let by a tiny bit, gaskets seep a tiny bit.

Is the major oil leak job you refer to the front chain cover oil leak? These don't look anything like that...

But I'm not an expert on oil leaks on these cars. Very happy to be corrected by those who know more, but I would only find out a bit more about the first leak, what it might be and the costs of rectification.

Yep. That's a mist of oil at most. If you collected all of it together I doubt there would be enough to fill a teaspoon.

Get the car bought. thumbup
