Paint repair recommendations - Mk/Bucks area
Discussion
Can anyone recommend someone for a local repair? My car got dinged whilst parked in a very wide spot (chosen as the best on offer - sigh) and its right on the swage line. Needs the dent pulled and some paint.
AM Works have quoted an eye watering figure for what is a relatively small mark... including 14 hours of labour just for the paint.
Inclined to take my chances with a mobile repairer - but would prefer to use a known entity.
Thanks!

Thanks both. Car is still under warranty so I am not sure if that would be an issue with either of them...?
Warranty shouldn't make any difference when you're going for a bodywork / paint repair. I guess the ONLY time you might have a problem, is if you later tried to claim due to a paint issue which happened to be in the same area that the repair was, but I'm going to say that's pretty unlikely.Might be worth asking Desmond Smail on Olney too what they reckon.
To be fair though, it sounds like a minor ding, so whilst it's seriously annoying, try not to overthink it when looking for a repair place. It's easy to think about the fact it's an Aston, and quickly forget it's just a metal door with some paint. Any competent outfit should be capable of sorting it (unless you've got some really really special paint finish).

Good advice. Thanks. No its a stock colour - Divine red. It does feel a bit like AM Works want to respray the entire car. I appreciate they want to do a factory level job on it, but the price is just crazy.weejimmy said:

Not being funny, but it's always worth having a frank conversation with Works to see what can be done. Not saying they'll do anything, but they still want and need work coming through the door, and this sounds like a bread and butter job.I use Works for everything as they're on my doorstep, but I also feel like I can have frank conversations with them about costings etc, and certainly have in the past.
PM me and I'll give you the name of someone to speak to......got to be worth a phone call.

+1 I had Aston Cheltenham sort a bubble on the roof and it was brilliant, but under warranty. I had a number/wing scrape (not me!) sorted by a normal body shop. Also brilliant!
Pricing seems to be (just for prep and paint) EITHER £300 odd per panel OR £1000 a panel. This was 18 months ago. I'd say it's very hard fo me to tell any difference at all...
