It's a great question, but I would prefer he says nothing and delivers something...

His tenure will not be judged on his words - but on what he delivers/changes - oh and of course whether he can turn the stock price around ......

When he pulled open a desk drawer at his new office, he found something about Bonds and 15th April 2022.
Initially thinking it must be something to do with a new film, he was then horrified to discover, that it was the due date for repaying nearly £1 billion of bond debts.

Being so shocked, he has not spoken publicly since.
However, colleagues think they heard him mumble, "I didn't have a problem of that magnitude at Daimler".

wink

Edit - reminds us of that tale about the note to his successor, from a Labour Chancellor of the Exchequer, 'The money has all gone".

Price cutting in the USA:

In a statement, Aston Martin Lagonda says it's taking steps to improve the "competitive position of the business" under a new leadership team led by CEO Tobias Moers, who left Mercedes' AMG division to take the helm of Aston Martin in August after a troubled IPO and other financial woes. "The Company continues to implement a strategy to rebalance the core business and has taken the decision to align its global pricing to give it headroom for more profitable products and variants it has planned for the future, which has seen a price realignment on certain models and derivatives in some markets," Aston Martin continued. Sounds like a plan to us.

2021 Aston Martin DBX Prices
$179,986

2021 Aston Martin Vantage Prices
Coupe: $142,086
Roadster: $150,086

A disappointment.
It must be a surprise, that the brand new model (to save the Company), which according to AP had a very strong order book, is being discounted so early in it's production.

To be fair to AML they have not said prices are being discounted, but instead 'have taken the decision to align its global pricing ......a price realignment on certain models and derivatives in some markets'. - Who writes this stuff?

Why do the three new prices, all end with 86?

Does it matter?

Everyone was saying that since the December 2019 special Christmas deal, the prices looked unrealistic. If they can get a price advantage over their competitors and ramp up production a little it helps amortise their costs.

It also means that special or uprated models have somewhere to go with pricing without becoming ridiculous.

I have said before, that TM is less prolific with his PR pronouncements than AP was. I had still far rather have TM at the helm, and if you have TM, you have in effect the resources of Daimler and AMG, if not overtly. I wouldn't expect baloney from TM. I would expect even better cars. This time, deeds not words.
