Clarkson, the Sunday Times review of the DBX
Discussion
Yep I believe it's concensus that provides the balanced view......... Like most human beans Clarkson's view is (IMHO) wholly subjective, and his is only one voice amongst many. Sadly I think Clarkson has become a sad caricature of his old self. Shame, I used to like the old TG...........

Not good
He was not bad when he was something approaching a journalist at Performance Car but he descended into unwatchable crashing bore and comic with poor comic timing as the Top Gear scriptwriters jumped the shark...
So will any of the potential buyers for DBX give a damn? How many of them will even know who he is? And who reads the Sunday Times anyway?
Rant over!

I think more people will be aware of JC than you think , but saying that nothing any journalist makes comment on would influence my buying decision on any product.
I’m sure I’m not alone.
I read it yesterday and I will happily take it with a pinch of salt. He didn’t actually say anything too scathing. It’s big, it’s expensive, the tech is from MB zzzzzzzz. He just doesn’t like big SUVs from the premium marques. Range Rover is the exception of course. And as noted elsewhere, I doubt that this article will sway anyone who has one on order. It certainly wouldn’t make any difference to me if I had one coming. His classic V12V TG film is still enjoyable now, and what little he said in that piece was worth hearing. Sadly his ramblings nowadays are not up to the same standard, and imho I think he should stick to game shows!

Clarkson’s documentaries are well worth a watch. Most notable are his wartime documentaries on the St. Nazaire raid and the ill-fated PQ17 merchant convoy.
Sorry, rant over.

I haven't seen it but I'm sure we all love the reviews that WOW! our favourite cars, and consider a reviewer who criticises our pride and joys as being a bit of a plonker.
Anyway, I find JC an amusing presenter, I take what he has to say about a car with a huge amount of aforementioned salt and I too prefer Harry for objectivity! But there we are... it's 'just' journalism, although the impact on brand can sadly be severe. But I wouldn't have thought Aston buyers would take it that seriously.
I am not an SUV fan by any make, particularly spending so much dosh on a Chelsea tractor, and maybe that is the point?

I will try to take a look - you never know my opinion on him may soften slightly.....
