My 2006 DB9 Volante has what I suspect is the standard hifi system by Linn with no aux input that I can find. (Am I missing it somewhere) Given that this limits me to radio or 6 CD’s I thought I could go back 15 years and make MP3 CD’s to increase my selection and prevent having cd cases scattered throughout the car.

Can anyone tell me whether the system will play MP3 format please?

Alternatively, apart from an expensive system upgrade, is there any other way I can increase my audio choices?

Thank you

I also have the same car and hifi. I use one of those FM transmitters plugged into the 12v in the boot or in the ashtray and connected to my iphone. It connects automatically and is also surprisingly good for phone call.

Something like this

Thanks Belfry. How does this affect the built in phone system, does it take it over or can you configure it to just play music?

People can hear me much better on this plug in system (connected via bluetooth to the hifi) than on my built in AM phone system. You can still choose which of the 2 to use, but I always choose the plug in due to the better sound quality.

Interestingly, I had a 2006 C70 which had the Dynaudio upgrade and a Volvo branded Parrot phone unit. That had an aux input behind the floating console. Given the similarities between Aston and Volvo in this area I had hoped to find a similar aux somewhere but I guess not.

Thanks for the responses guys. I guess it’s down the simple FM transmitter or the more complex MrVolt system. I might try the former first. It’s cheap and easy to start with and if the dash trim has to come off for any reason I’ll have the MrVolt system put in.

Great choices. Thanks again for your help.
