Today I bought a V12 Vantage :)
Discussion
Hello chums
Today I agreed to chop in my 991.2 GTS manual for a V12 Vantage manual (Carbon Black edition)
Happy times indeed, been wanting to experience one of these for years..
It’s coming from AM works so it has the approved warranty and also I have agreed secondary decat pipes and ought to agree a separate deal on Monday for V12S wheels.
My question is really: any other must do upgrades whilst I’m on? Or should I just enjoy it? My commute includes the Tyne Tunnel so I should have some aural fun twice a day!

Love the sound of them just ticking over , never mind when at full chat.cornershop said:
Very nice
Did you try one with lightweight seats?
I did, years ago from a local specialist (Aston Works @ Beamish) but I couldn’t find a main dealer example with them. I do like them and I would swap them in if I could find some. I think the Carbon Black edition has a type of lighter weight seats anyway but I love the look of the fixed back seatsDid you try one with lightweight seats?

Only other upgrade I would suggest is the Bovee 1000 for Bluetooth integration.
Risk mitigation - primary decat and sport secondary cats
Circa £2800 IIRC - frees up some Bhp/torque and removes risk of cat material ingestion due to failing coils going unnoticed.
I’ve got the factory secondary decat but I am retaining the cats in case someone I later sell to wants them in. I like the idea of the DAE upgrades but I’ll wait til its out of warranty. I’m always up for more horsepower and more noise though!Risk mitigation - primary decat and sport secondary cats

Yes... one major mod’...
remove the rear parcel shelf and place it flat in the boot (or leave it at home if you aren’t storing stuff in the rear!) this will unlock extra V12 fabulousness
Hahaha that is a clever idea

I will do that! It’s being delivered all the way up to my office which is right next to AM Newcastle so I’ll be able to sample the pure sound through the Tunnel on the way home Grant3 said:

I need to retry this - i did it briefly but couldn’t really tell much difference. After fitting BR manifolds and sport secondary cats, one to test with the switch in factory mode.

Gosh that looks amazing!!! I was going to go with bronze V12S wheels or smoked grey but black looks mint
I think bronze would look very nice on an, otherwise, all-black car! There's an M2 CS on the cover of a recent EVO which is all-black with bronze (perhaps nearer gold) alloys and it does look stunning. Which is hard for me to say with a modern BMW
But when polished/detailed to within an inch of its existence, the photo of the all-black V12V above is damn nice! Kudos.
