Hi, I have recently purchased a 2009 V8 Roadster (known to this forum) and have noticed that it seems to be missing the rubber seals that should run down both wings from the bulkhead to the grille. Are they important, and should I replace, or are they purely aesthetic or removed for a reason?

Not looked carefully enough to check function, but mine had shrunken in my 2010 v12 and popped over the edge of the bonnet when closed.

£175 each i think

Not sure if we are talking about the same thing, but I noticed on mine that if I let the bonnet slam down, the left rubber will be caught in a weird position. The solution is simply to avoid slamming it: you keep it until it laches, then push just in front of the AM wings to lock it. Rubber stays perfect this way.

I think we are. The width of my left hand side seal (from drivers seat) had definitely shrunk, so a soft close still results in seal popping over the bonnet edge.

New item fitted, all is well

I’ve not noticed any problems with them missing, but it is one of a number of issues I am working through. I have ended up investing in a Carbon Diffuser for example, as one of the previous owners had a load of work done, some of which looked ok on the surface, but was done cheaply by the dealership to look pretty... There is a long thread on here about how this came about.
The seals are available from the main dealer, and are actually cheaper @£66 incl. each, than the unofficial suppliers, which surprised me too?

No 6 here https://www.scuderiacarparts.com/en-gb/part-finder...

But you’re right, much cheaper - I need to which part they fitted.

I think my price included fitting, which at AM rates....
