I'm trying to locate the tonneau release cables on my 09 Vantage Roadster and I can't find them according to where they should be in the owners manual. I was closing my roof and stopped in the middle as I was grabbing something, but once I continued to close it, it stopped and I got the no movement possible message. I tried reseting the windows and that didn't work. I was going to put it up manually without locking it and try to see if it works. I also have a random wire that doesn't connect to anything on the back hood as shown. I know there was a video dash system installed, but wasn't sure if that was linked to the system. Should I replace the fuse and unplug the battery once its up if I still have issues?

I have a Coupé so sorry, but I am unable to answer your question.

Whilst waiting for assistance, you might like to watch a very funny episode of Top Gear.
It does involves driving with the folding roof partly raised.

Unfortunately, the start of the film is missing, so the plot might be difficult to understand.
They are playing the role of older people, many of whom have no interest at all in driving. Peugeot, after making good sporty cars for many years (GTI models), suddenly changed to making cars to suit this type of driver.

Whilst describing the heater controls, an extra button is turned off, because especially hot (ESP ) is not needed. wink

In my V8 Roadster the two tonneau release cables (they are just fancy black string) are located at the battery. I actually taped them to the top of the battery for ease of location in an emergency.
Be careful when pulling them as you do not want to snap either of them.

It could be that your roof is confused, what I mean by that is if the roof is halted in mid open position, then it needs to be closed or opened to let the mechanism know at which part of the cycle is it in.
I did stop my roof mid position and it did not like it and it stopped working.
If you can manually lift the tonneau cover and close the roof, that might reset the roof cycle and allow the electrics/hydraulics to take over.
That is what I did in the past.

I do not recognise the cable that is loose, but have a look and see if it should be plugged in, it will have to go somewhere.

Good luck and hope you get it sorted

I only see one black wire. I can lift the front up of the roof up without issues, but I cannot get the back to push down. And if I try to push the roof it's impossible as there is major resistance and I don't want to break anything.

Hi to reset hood you have to manually lock soft top to screen catch using small Allen key located in tool housing, there is a small plastic plug above mirror which you remove for access to roof worm drive. Not sure if you can raise roof to lock position with tonneau open, as roof is out of movement sequence but if you can the last inch needs a fair bit of force to enable worm drive to catch two people or a prop. Once you have manually locked soft top try auto switch if it goes into fault this may mean soft top is locked in wrong sequence, manually unlock and lock again then try again. If soft top can auto open you may be able to shut tonneau in sequence but you need two people as once you press auto switch you cannot stop. Hope this works had my top up down a lot to work on it but l have never had tonneau open with soft top down so best of luck.

I manually locked the top using the hex key, I still get the error but it did allow be to finally put the roof in correct sequence. I manually unlocked and locked the roof again but still nothing.

Once the roof is almost closed, disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes. When you reconnect, it might allow you to complete the close sequence. I have had this happen a couple of times when interrupting the roof to clean the rear screen, or treat the seals. Failing that, maybe there’s something on the Foxwell OBDC terminal that allows you to reset the controller?

I put the roof completely down and started move from the top down position, the roof gets to the halfway point and then just stops although I still hear the motor running. Then when I close it from the halfway point it doesn't completely close, it looks like it closes all the way but pops back up as if something is stopping it from locking in place. Any other things I can try before I take it in?

It looks like the sensors within the roof itself that indicate its position are not triggering the next step of the process. When closing, from the photo above, the whole roof should be tilted forward in its semi compressed to provide clearance for the cover to close. Same applies when opening, confirmation that the roof is fully compressed is missing, so the next step will never be attempted. (I am not an expert on this particular roof design, but have experience of similar systems)
Also, Does anyone know if the Foxwell OBD Units can help with roof diagnosis?

I ended up taking it to a shop, we will see what the issue is in a few days hopefully. I did get the roof completely down and to not pop up by holding the button down for a few minutes, just couldn't get all the way there. Oh well, thank you for your help and to everyone else.

Good luck, hope it isn't too complex\expensive to resolve.
