just had an email - with finance offers - significant dealer contribution on the Vantage, DB11, and DBS but its still 6% laugh

At least they aren't doing public dealer discounts on the DBX yet which I hope is a good sign.

Hi,

I am currently emailing a few of the AM dealers to see if there are any great deals on the Vantage like last December. Im not sure if any offers will be as good as that to be fair. Could you share the offer you have found and let me know which dealer it is with please?

Thanks

John

Wish I pilled into that Vantage offer last year, was too late. Was it 1k down and 1k per month for 2 years? Just sounded too good to be true..

I had a deal similar to this but 1 year and my car went back recently. I was disappointed that although very polite and friendly, at no point did the dealer or AM corporate ask me what I thought about the car, for any feedback on the ownership experience, nor try to tempt me into replacing it at the end of the term. Very strange.

Really, surely you were ripe for AM to start up selling their products to you? The Vantage for me just seems to have so much presence, a real beauty. 1 year deal sounded perfect also!

Given they are built to order, I suspect no more crazy deals?

It was certainly true, but I think Aston Martin blew £35 million, to get those cars out of their dealer showrooms.

Aston Martin has historically mostly worked on a build to order basis, but when sales of the new Vantage failed to meet targets, production continued above the demand level. That enabled them to report good sales (ie. Aston Martin Lagonda's customers are their dealers). That tactic inevitably comes to a halt at some point, which was when the offer you mention was available. No doubt not coincidental timing either, because it was in the final month of their financial year, so they could then report increasing customer demand. The £35 (ish) million figure was obviously not highlighted, but was stated in the accounts.

The offer therefore was purely the result of over production. If think it is referred to as 'Channel Stuffing'.

Nothing at all like the deals of last year unfortunately. Think the best i got was £10k off list price and £8k deposit contribution which is great on the face of it but the total spend of deposit and monthly payments were substantially more than the deal last December.

From memory the total spend (deposit and monthly payments) for the 3 year deal I've just been offered was approx £86k with 10k miles a year whereas the 2 year deal last December only had a total spend of £25k for 6k miles per annum. So you've got the car for an extra year with more mileage but its costing circa £61k more for the exact same car.

I mentioned to the delaer that even though i understand the reasons why the deal last year was so good and that i understand it won't be repeated, I believe its sort of set a precedent for the deal that could be had for a new Vantage and that it has tainted the circa £140/150k asking price after options. Surely there can't be many people who have bought a brand new Vantage this year knowing that such amazing deals were on last December?
