My 07 V8V has a exhaust button on the steering column, but there is no mention of it in the owners guide, is this factory fitted or aftermarket.

Any user instructions about, it appears to have more than one function depending how long you press it and has an illuminated ring that changes brightness.

I don't have one and got the classic CC Charger remote. But usually it is:

- factory (valves are opening at the factory RPM)

- loud mode (valves always open)

- silent (valves always close)

Ask someone to stand behind the car and try to give some gas and press the button. smile

I suspect it probably does something like that, just need to find out who supplied it and get some instructions.

When you turn on ignition the ring lights dim which I think is standard mode, If you press the button the ring lights bright which I think is loud mode, if you press and hold the button for a couple off seconds the ring alternates between dim and bright, not sure what that means.

Very brave pressing an unlabelled button on an Aston Martin. You have to be pretty brave to press some of the labelled ones.

You have what looks like an Aston Martin/ Prodrive exhaust upgrade.

Have a quick look around the car for anything else you may have been lucky to get free, they had a few options when the Prodrive upgrades came out.

These were:

Performance Pack.
Driver Switchable Exhaust Silencing
Driver Adjustable Suspension
Aerodynamic Enhancements
Wheels and tyres

You should have instructions in your Aston Martin V8 Vantage owners guide explaining how everything works, the Prodrive section is an extra 10 pages.

Spot on, just found the Prodrive pages in the front, I didn't think those applied to me, I wonder if I have any other goodies.

Am I right in thinking that if I had a Prodrive performance pack the engine would be black.

Most of it is easy to see, the performance pack you might need to take it for a drive and see what it revs to, the standard car is 7000rpm, upgraded is 7500rpm.

Don’t think that has anything to do with the ProDrive kit.

Nice, then it's basically an official option.
