Morning chaps,

I'm looking at a V12 VS that is 6yo years old 23,000 miles.

The first 4 services were done within the 1 year / 10,000 mile recommendation.

However with the last service the owner has been a little lax and has left it 19m.

It only did 4500 miles during that period. Is the 'missing' service something to be worried about and will it affect resale?

Cheers,
BG

I wouldn’t worry too much about that as it’s essentially 7 months past the normal interval but it’s only done 4,500 miles in that time.
I’ve got an 11 year old v12v and I’ve always had it serviced every year despite doing only about 1,000 miles a year in the car. This year I’ve decided to move to 24 month service intervals as in the last 12 months the car has done 800 miles so the oil is almost new!

You could use this to get a reduction in the price. It wouldn’t worry me if the rest of the car looks good.

Like he said, if the miles are low between services and it’s 2 years or less it wouldn’t put me off if the car is in good condition. I have been recommended moving to 2 yearly services by an indy if I am only doing a few miles each year.

Wouldn't bother me providing everything else checked out OK.

If in doubt phone the dealer that did the service and just check with them, although I'd be very surprised if they were concerned at all.

Lets be honest, most of us have done bugger all miles in 2020, so who can blame someone for not shelling out £7-800 in order just to park it up again.
