Hi, I'm in the process of refreshing the fron end of my car, 2009 V8 Vantage coupe with sportspack suspension.

Having removed the wishbones the ball joints are lookin a bit tired and the bushes are similarly starting to show their age, the car has done 72k (miles).

So weighing up options to freshen things up. Replacement upper wishbones are in the region of £350+VAT from Scuderia or AMBits. I also know that Powerflex are very close to releasing their polybush kit for the Vantage and AMBits are now listing the ball joints separately. So there are a couple of options to consider.

One thing I'm not clear on is the difference between the OEM part numbers, e.g. for the upper wishbones it's either:
8D33-3084-AC
or
6G33-3084-AB

According to AMbits listing the former is for the sportspack cars, but the part number on my car is the latter. Is there any actual difference in these parts and would they be interchancable each way?

similarly what would be the difference on the lower wishbones for SP cars, did they have uprated bushes?

A call to HWM might be prudent.

Both my upper wishbones have lateral movement in the bushes - the rubber itself is ok, just the bush itself is pulling out of the wishbone. Hoping it’s a warranty item.

I think a new wishbone was introduced with V12VS which had different (stronger/firmer) bushes. When mine were replaced I had the V12VS ones fitted so they are interchangeable. Not sure which number is which though.

Hey Alister, are you doing the development work with Powerflex on this? Do you hae a view on how they will compare to the v12S upper wishbones?

Will they fit the V12V upper wishbones to avoid the need to replace the arms?

How does that help with wishbones?

These upper arms still have the polymer outer sleeve to the bush which is not the stiffest of solutions. The ugraded V12S and DB9 2013+ arms have a metal sleeve to increase stiffness. Handily these are actually cheaper than the earlier arms at £203+VAT
https://www.scuderiacarparts.com/part/260860/aston...

I'm now weighing up whether to get these which will obvioulsy come with all new arms, bushes and ball joints, or wait on the Powerflex solution which will aso require forking out for a new set of ball joints.

Interesting - no mention of V12 Vantage - I will check compatibility. Thank you.

From what I understand they should all be fully compatible/interchangable. It's the rear uppers that are slightly different across different model years.

Great, thank you.

I don’t think mine are due to fail anytime soon, however the bush has starting sliding out on both uppers. Reading a thread on 6speed suggests geometry will be affected, so maybe I will sort preemptively and not wait for an MoT failure, which may or may not be covered by the AM Premium warranty.

I emailed specialist Josh Pearce in Chobham with part numbers, he spoke to HWM who advised the £203 part is for roadster only, and is therefore unwilling to fit this part to my coupe.

Doesn’t appear that the old part with slidable bush has been superseded by the V12VS part

hmmm, well I only got my intel from the 6Speed online forum so it might be incorrect. though I have just noticed that AMbits list the DG part as being for V12 roadster and S models.

Yes I saw the 6speed thread too - I’ve seen reference previously to v12vs wishbones replacing V12v wishbones, so surprised to receive the news I did today.
