Plugged in my Foxwell today and all went well. Cleared down a few codes which had resulted from my front and rear suspension rebuild.

One code I couldn’t clear was a parking sensor code. It says “refer to manual” but doesn’t say whether it’s front or rear or anything else.

Anyone have any experience of this ?

Ok no probs, I've got the Aston OBD2 dignostic manual so I'll check that, its the DB9 one but yours is almost the same.

Thanks Paul - much appreciated

Was trying to find a thread on alternative sensors which I posted without success.

I think the inners are JLR common, should I need one.

Aston owners generally use a golf club to check the sensors. Sit in the car and put it in reverse (engine running or ignition on). Have your trusty assistant stand clear of the outer sensors then bring the head of the club towards the sensors one at a time. If it is working you will hear the beeps increase in speed. If you don't have any golf clubs your hand will do. smile

Jonny, outer rears are also Jaguar parts, I replaced one at reasonable cost.

Thanks all - codes are as follows;

C1719
B2477

Nothing in the DB9 manual - they all seem to be P codes.

Looks like it's out with the trusty stethoscope to listen for the tell tale click on each sensor. Having had the bumper off to do the subframe etc it'll be a pain having to remove it again if any of the rears need changing !

If someone has part nrs that would be great - I'll have a look as well.

As a Volvo code, it suggests Left Front Centre sensor circuit fault?

Correct, left front inner sensor. Easily checked as said above, no need for stethoscopes. Just put your hand over it (ignition on etc) and no beep in the cabin means it or the wiring has failed. If not sure if its the wiring, simply swap with another one.

I managed to do the outer rear rear one without removing the bumper. It was a little awkward and had to do much of it blind but it was ok.

This means a configuration fault in the module. Usually this happens when there is a failure elsewhere in the circuit. Never be tempted to replace a module or component based on a B code. Once the sensor or wiring fault is fixed the B code usually disappears when you clear the codes.

Definitely the front inner - all the others are clicking away merrily.

Tried to get it out, but it’s a fiddly bvgger in a cold garage. Any tips ? There seem to be 2 clips holding it in, both of which need to be prised up.

If they are like the rears, then there will be two spring loaded tangs on the back of the bumper at 180 degrees to each other that need to be levered away slightly from the body of the sensor to unclip. Then the sensor can be slid out backwards from the hole.
