anyone ideas other than a new unit which isn't available from AM ? Mines not allowing the start and i know V!" VAnquish are doing a tremendous job to find a solution but we're all open to ideas and solutions, but if David is stumped then what's next as he's a V!2Vanquish hero.

Have you tried Bamford Rose in Warwickshire?

Authority on the V12 and have also done complex work on NP Vanquish cars.

John I presume that you are talking about the PTEC's. You need to revisit the AMOC forum, it looks like they have had success as Steves car is now running. However if yours just will not start there are a number of other things it could be, security module, poor earths and the usual knackered battery.

May even be an old tracker playing up - this will immobilise that car

John - thanks for the vote of confidence! We are still exploring options and have taken steps to buy the hardware we need to repair these PTECS. It a long slog and we are a hairs breadth away from having a sustainable solution. We are a very open minded group battling to keep these cars on the road and if there is anyone out there who can contribute to helping with this problem please get in touch!!

He's absolutely correct in everything he says - top man for trying to prevent the problem in the first place although part of the problem is down to deteriorating insulation in the looms allowing more induced voltages into other parts of the harness through normal functioning. Our group has found the throttle body chip that fails and we have a supply! We also know that swapping a broken chip on the board with one from a good PTEC works - coding the new chips is the final part of the puzzle which we will need AM to help with this and we will have a sustainable solution. We have also completely redesigned the engine loom to increase spike protection and added extra shielding and grounding as well as completely re-routing high spike cables such as the A/C clutch and alternator to reduce the possibility if induced voltages into delicate wiring areas such as the throttle bodies. Its a task but we will resolve it!!

Thanks everyone I know David at V12 Vanquish has a cunning plan, we’ve done the battery bit so as soon as Covid allows we can do plan B👍. Keep adding any suggestions if we all help each other we all benefit. Great to have David helping.
