Hi folks

Am I right in thinking that the Touchtronic Box in the DB9 uses a conventional torque-converter?

If so, can anyone please tell me how reliable it is? I’m basically trying to establish if it’s ongoing maintenance costs would (typically) be significantly less than the clutch / flywheel replacements associated with running the manual / Sportshift boxes?

Cheers.

Yes, torque converter type in the DB9 - ZF box I think? Generally a reliable box

Speed shift is a graziano unit - same actual box whether automated manual or manual. Again, generally reliable although there are do’s and donts re how the drive the auto that can affect clutch life?

The auto box in a DB9 is a ZF 6 speed, it's used widely in all sorts of car manufactures and it is very reliable.

Every 6 years I would replace the oil with some seals, tricky to do the process correctly at home, see Aston Martin 1936 for full details.

No clutch to replace etc, the rear diff will need new oil every 4 years, easy job to do.
