Hi Fellow PH Astoners

My extended warranty is up for renewal in a few days time, I was half expecting some sort of goodwill gesture on the renewal cost from AM due the not being allowed out of my house and using the car for the last 6 months but nothing has been offered.

Has anyone managed to get a better deal on renewal this time around?

If anything, its probably going to go up. All those rubber seals, starting to perish due to lack of use.........

I think warranty might only be worth it on certain cars.

For the most, best to keep it the cash in your pocket and use when needed.

The only better deal you will get on Timeless warranty from an AM dealer is to go with two years as this saves a few £100's.

Worth it if this includes year 5 on the car as if will save an additional £500.

Timeless on a 5 year+ car adds another £500 per year.

I wonder how many owners, consider it worth renewing their warranty?

A goodwill gesture!
Please understand Andrew, that Aston Martin Lagonda was almost 'on Carey Street' at the start of last year (again), so they are now attempting to dig themselves out of a deep hole. Any money you can put in their collection plate, will be most gratefully received. wink

Generosity is good for the soul. Tommy Cooper was generous man and always slipped a tip into his taxi driver's top pocket.
He would say, "Have a drink on me".
Later the taxi drivers would find a tea bag in their jacket pocket.

I have a dull friend who it is said, has not laughed at a joke since 1969. He would not understand my taxi driver joke at all.

I may have some progress after writing to AM and my dealer, they have acknowledged my letter and that my request is under consideration.. Who knows what the outcome will be

For information My car is a 12 years old this year, its a V12 Vantage cover 49k but only did 600 miles last year, 200 of which where going to the dealer for its services and repair work!!

Andy with that sort of usage why bother. These cars are very robust so personally, i wouldn't.

The low mileage this was due to not being allowed out of the house due to government guidelines of anything but essential trips, as such these where not performed in the V12V.

I have had money back on my car insurance for miles I have not used upon renewal on all my cars, some quite generous.

I normally do circa 6-8k PA in the Aston with things like European holidays, day trips, car event etc

There is one precedent, well sort of. My insurance company was advertising that due to the lower mileage people travel under lockdown, it would refund some of the premium paid. What a generous offer! So I filled in the new lower mileage and sent the form in - and got £10.

Just a publicity stunt I conclude frown

I managed a 100% reduction.

Simply told them to shove it after AM non sympathetic response to my question of a reduction.

My logic in not renewing is that I can use the monies saved to delete the cats smile via BR

As you know I have the full BR kit - HWM told me everything is covered except for the exhaust and ECU (standard exhaust wouldn’t be covered either)

I didn’t suggest the warranty doesn’t cover the mods , just that by not paying for a warranty the mods are partially funded 👍🏻
