DB11 buying advice
Discussion
I currently drive a Maserati Granturismo that I’ve had for 6 years. It’s a great car, but I’m feeling a bit “been there, done that” with it at the moment. Looking at the official AM used site, there seem to be quite a few V12 DB11s available registered late 2017 through to early 2019. I’ve set my budget at around the 100k mark; given that these cars probably originally listed north of 150k, that seems a reasonable amount from the official network with a warranty.
My questions really are a) is this a terrible idea and b) if not, what should I be looking out for when buying? The prices for anything that’s painted a colour, rather than silver or black seem to be lower for some reason, so going for one of those may not be the best idea(?)
I need the thing actually to function as a mode of transport, i.e. although I don’t do that many miles per year, this will be my only car, so it has to do everything from long hauls up to Scotland to going around town to the supermarket.
Any constructive advice would be very welcome. I’m really not interested in the V8 by the way, because I feel that would be to close to replacing like with like.

They are absolutely brilliant i throughly recommend them. I use mine daily and absolutely no complains over 18k miles. If you are happy using Maser daily you will have no problem adapting to DB11 unless you need rear seats.
I agree it gotta be V12. I would either spend £85 - £90k get a 17/67 plate "Launch Edition" (These come with a lot of optional extras as standard) or spend £110 - £115k and get the upgraded 19 plate DB11 AMR model
Mine is rock solid in terms of reliability but check for squeaky brakes and interior rattles. Also i believe there was a recall on the bonnet grills that leak water into engine bay make sure its done.

I concur. I use my DB11 V12 as a dd. Absolutely love it! Short commutes to work or long weekend getaways it has been nothing but a blast. Just be ready for the attention. Daily pictures, videos, and fellowship at every stop. I even have children so taking them to school daily is an easy task. I hope you make the jump. I have a 66 plate V12 LE, bought at 1 year old. I've been very pleased with it and it's a keeper now. I echo about the bonnet grilles. I had the issue with the engine management light coming on, when it rained or after washing the car. AM sorted it out under warranty. The recall adds further covers on the two middle grilles above the engine. Water gets on the coil packs apparently-bad design fault. The infotainment is old generation but works and the twist knobs on the air grilles are cheap plastic looking. The car gets a lot of attention when out and about.
Good luck.
I got my 66 V12 DB11 this year from AM Chichester , couldn’t be happier with it.
I have two child seats in the back , kids can go in there comfortably enough for short trips up to a couple of hours I would say.
Back has enough space for an adult to squeeze in for a trip to the pub. Boot can get a push chair or the week let shop in. We have a family car for all the daily jobs but this is my daily drive with no issues.
I will echo what others have said about interior rattles etc but all easily fixed and if your looking at buying for a AM dealer they have the staff to sort everything without any arguments.
Good luck !

had mine 3 years. 9k miles, no issues at all. zero cost as servicing free, but I did put the V12 badges on the sides. ISO child seat attachment in rear, sub 5'6" adults fit in rear also, as long as front occupants are not too much over 6'
1k AMR flash give same engine and transmission settings as a 2022 car, and as 2022 suspension hardware reverts from harder AMR bushes to launch edition spec - the 1k flash makes a 2017 V12 more or less same spec as the 2022 car. the 30horses extra come courtesy of the engine holding onto the 700NM for an extra 500rpm.
Robustness, build quality and reliability are top notch. The Merc electrics resolve the previous major DB9/Vantage gripes of dodgy, poor quality, poorly integrated hotchpotch former Ford PAG electrical systems. Nothing to dislike other than the cheap looking afterthought touchscreen. After the rotating nav DB9, any central screen should have been more like the new Continental (now THAT is an interior). Probably why the hapless and unimaginative interior design chief Miles N has now departed - while DB11 interior quality is a step up from the DB9, it is really a poor effort design wise.
If you can live with the uninspiring but high quality material interior - the rest of the car is awesome.
