Pulling to the left by acceleration...
Discussion
Hi all,
Since I got my DB9.2 (3months now) she pulls to the left at the acceleration after 1/4 second (on flat road), and comes directly back to the right by raising the foot. From 40-50mls/70-80kmh on it starts. At 90mls/130kmh it's an issue, I have to correct the steering.
Without acceleration, or by braking she seems to stay straight.
I already did a Geo, it's not better. My Mec. checked the rubbers, bush, silent blocks, cradle fixation and other things under the body, but found no play anywhere.
His pretty safe that it might be the tyres. They are from 2016 on the front and 2014 at the rear, otherwise in good shape. Pirelly P Zero (MY 2013).
I will go to the Michelin 4s. So another profile and have to change all 4. The age for the rears is here. But I'm not completly sure that tyres alone could do this...
What is your opinion on this ?
Thanks a lot !

In my experience, it’s usually down to very delicate tracking and slight differences in PSI. Make sure you find a very well trusted and regarded specialist who understands their equipment and how to tweak it for a (gentleman’s) supercar.
I use Queens Park Garage in Bournemouth and their chap is a superstar on the Hunter equipment. Has sorted my RS6 and AMs several times.

As checked with a lever by the best supercar Mec. in my Region (North-east of France) and the low mileage/age, the problem would anyway comes from the tyres according to your experiences. I was afraid it could be worse..
I will check the tread depths of all four. Same age on each axle. And make a very fine pressure on each and test drive.
And if not better, I will order him the Michelin tyres, and during the intervention I will ask him to check again the rear lower arm bushes.
I will keep you informed !
Thanks for your help !

I had this exact problem but on my '65 TR4 which has 180Bhp motor
I thought the diff was out of alignment but it turned out to be the "U" brackets holding the rear axle were deflecting under load (power on / power off) and causing the rear to steer the car
new high tensile bolts & sorted
so while it does not apply to your car I suspect there is something which is moving under load on one side of the car causing the problem - someone said bushes in an earlier thread
I'd be checking everything in the rear drivetrain
Please let us know when you sort it

Thanks for your shared experience. May be they checked not everything, but 1/2h two persons with lever and found nothing..I thought the diff was out of alignment but it turned out to be the "U" brackets holding the rear axle were deflecting under load (power on / power off) and causing the rear to steer the car

I made a very fine pressure set, and checked the treads who seemed to be quit exactly the sames. Drive test, and... It's excatly the same issue.. So I will order now the Michelin tyres and will keep you all informed.
I'm with those saying its tyres. I've had enough experience of this issue where a car pulls left or right and it's usually happened after a tyre change where I've moved away from what was fitted by OEM. Usually (and luckily) while driving company cars where I do around 30-40k a year meaning I can get through tyres reasonably quickly compared to most aside that is for my old Lexus IS300H which did 50K on one set. I've had front and rear wheel drive cars of varying makes over the years many of them suffering this issue.
After spending what seemed like hours with tyre fitting and tracking guys it wouldn't solve it then a change of tyre again and the problem is fixed.
It usually involves a lot of head scratching and changes to set up only for it to rectify itself!! most annoying and unexplainable.
Hope it goes well and would be interested to hear what is causing it.

So now i'm a happy man ! 8-)
Since the new Michelin instead of 2014 and 2016 Pirelli, today:
More comfort, better responding, more smooth, straight, and.... no pulling left at all ! so it was indeed the rear tyres ! He saw by demounting that the tyres were almost dry on the flanks under presure from demounting.
I feel integral with my car now. What was not completely the case before.. What a supercar !
DOT front 06 20 and rear 48 20.
So as an experience for others also, and thanks again for your ideas !
The only thing, those tyres don't have the bead protecting the rim, and they don't look sportiest as the dedicated Pirelli. But the car is beautiful enough to cover this ! :-)

Yes good news ! And indeed the tyres do so much on a car. All my 7 cars have Michelin now ;-).
A pitty that otherwise the tyres were really not used and good looking, a pitty also for the fronts I had to change to have everywhere the same brand and profil. But it was worth to do it, it's a most better car now.
