Well, it's taken a lot of blood, coffee and swearing, but I've managed to successfully start the car for the first time using the Glass Key as part of my Volvo to Glass Key conversion. I'll do a full write up with instructions and photos once I've completed the installation.

I was quoted nearly £7k for the parts by Aston Martin Bits, in the end this has cost me a grand total of about £450. The only parts required were:
Glass Key Dock and Bracket (got it off ebay for about £130)
Glass Key (again ebay for about £250)
Updated Ski Slope (found for £70 on ebay)

After that it was a case of working out all the pin outs and extending the ignition and PATS wiring to the new dock and then relocating the PATS reader.

As I say, I'll upload a proper guide in due course, but in the meantime here is a smug video of the first start using the glass key!

Congrats! I would never venture in such a project, but I respect people that will!

The whole interior is stripped out at the moment, it's terrifying! I'm refurbishing the whole thing though, so it's not all in aid of the key!

Well done....im sure there will be a few who will consider following you in the DIY route, but I would guess that if you were paying someone £80 per hour in labour it could work out pretty expensive!

I removed the mechanical steering lock this afternoon. The one downside of the whole conversion seems to be the lack of any steering lock on the car from now on. I can live with it.
