How to manually open DB9 boot lid???

Just thought I would ask this question as there seems to be no answer.

I have no problem with my DB9 boot release but say there is a problem with the boot release mechanism and the actuator has failed, how do you release the boot?

The manual handle is inside the boot and no way of getting inside the boot !! my DB9 is a coupe.

Has anyone had this exact issue and what do you do?

you need to get access to the boot via the parcel shelf. it's a PITA but very do-able. There is spring pin locking mechanism for the parcel shelf. You will need to somehow 'Fish' the pull tab for that from the top of the shelf or as i did and apply lots of brute force banging around the spring pin area at the edge of the parcel shelf. it took me ages but the parcel shelf will release giving you access to the boot.

The Vantage has a removable parcel shelf, but possibly not the DB9, because it does not have an opening tailgate.

We could plan ahead I suppose.
Tie a length of cord to the interior emergency boot release. Then leave the other end neatly stowed away in the cabin.
No need to fiddle about reaching into the boot, just tension the cord and then tug.
