Everyone,
I am new so sorry if this has been asked before, but I did try to search.
I have 2011 Aston Martin Rapide and the rubber seal between the front and rear windows is starting to crack. This is the one which attached to the front side of the rear windows.

AM dealer said that they do not sell it separately and need to be bought with the whole rear windows. Does anyone know a replacement for this rubber seal?

Have you checked on the usual sites like Scuderia Car Parts? wink

They have a lot of the parts on astonmartinbits too.

https://www.astonmartinbits.com/search?search=seal...

Maybe this diagram off their site will help you identify which part(s) the seal is that you need.

On that I have deduced it is either 6 or 7.

Mine has actually de bonded from the glass a little so is now basically flapping 3 or so inches.

I am looking to use some black sealant/adhesive to try and secure it in back down in place otherwise it’s probably a window out job and a trip to a dealer!

Seems the rubber hardens and perishes over time. frown

Yes, I have checked Scuderia parts and even call the dealer and No, it is not in the picture that is posted there.
It is bonded to the glass and Aston sell it with the rear window glass for $1900.

I just do not want to order a glass that is still perfectly fine for a seal

The picture has a little bit reflection but this is what I'm looking for. The rubber seal come as part of the rear window

You might want to take care of that before break. It is very difficult to replace. I think No 6 and 7 probably is the seal that attached to the door itself under the window. It is for the front door.

Does anyone know what sort of product would be suitable for bonding it on?

Halfords sell a small tube of this stuff which sort of looks suitable.

Question is it’s probably not comparable to the factory bonding, but would mean a short term fix before a whole new window!

I wonder if it’s made by toyoda gosei in wales, which they have just announced they are closing and moving to Europe - customers include : Aston martin.

If you think about your front windscreen - that has a Mattblack edge to it for “bonding” to your car - does the glass have a similar effect where the rubber is stuck to it? If so, I would speak to a friendly auto glass fitter.

I am trying my luck and order this from Ebay.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/393102334308?_trkparms=ai...

I figure it is only $8.00 if it does not fit then I will take a bite. and use it somewhere else. If somebody can get the genuine AM internal part, please let me know.

Yeah does look like its pre bonded to the rear window actually.

Almost £1000 for a clear one or £1200 for privacy tinted.

Scuderia have it instock for $1464.66 I am trying to find cheaper solution that does not include replacing rear glass window. I understand the price of the window since it is a double pane glass bonded together. Hence it is not cheap but common really, we need to replace glass for a $10 seals? frown

Did you ever find a suitable replacement seal. I am also in the same position...can't really justify thousands of dollars to fix a $10 seal.
Glass is made by Lipik...I didn't have luck sourcing from them however.

I too would like a solution if anyone's found one. I've been in contact with a few seal companies but nothing so far that matches the shape or even rough dimensions.

Well it's about time that the car will be out of the storage and get on the street. I will spend my time to look for this again and if I found a solution I will post it here.

Hi all,
Wondering if any of you gentlemen found an alternative solution to purchasing a new window ?
I’m currently having a seal designed and manufactured for my door and just wondered if anyone has already done this.
