Why no manual gearbox in the Vantage Roadster?

In a hearbeat I would order a new Vantage Roadster with a manual gearbox but Aston does not offer the option. Why? They did all the hardwork by engineering it to fit the current Mercedes engined Vantage. So why not drop it in the roadster? I can't imagine why they would not offer this as surely they would sell at least some additional cars to folks like me. Seems really a dumb move to me. And now with Andy Palmer gone along with his promise that Aston will continue to offer manual gearboxes, it seems the V12 S will be the last Aston Martin ever offered as a roadster with a manual gearbox? I hope AM realizes it could make some additional sales with a roadster. Because if it is just a coupe then I'll take a manual GT3 over the Vantage.

I own the manual hardtop Vantage circa 2020. It is a great car but I cannot see the new group at AM supporting this transmission much longer. I'd bet that the 2023 "refresh" will mark the end of the manual transmission for AM. Maybe I'm wrong but doubtful. I agree it shouldn't be a big deal to put the manual into the roadster. The fact they aren't speaks volumes.

Early press articles seem to suggest it may make it into production if there is enough demand. Have you registered your interest in such a beast with a dealer?

I told my dealer I would buy one if they offered it. I'll try and register if that is possible.
