Essential Accessories for Vanquish (New to me)

Well just took the plunge today on buying a Vanquish S volante, great on test drive loved the feel and sound of the car and a contrast to the new Vantage V8 I also took out as a look see. That sounded a bit underpowered and felt like I was sitting back in my Audi TTS again, strange how the Vantage feels lower and the styling is just not a patch on the manual dials of the Vanq.
Only criticisms of the Vanquish were in the bright light the dispaly is quite hard to read (hopefully I can increase the brightness on reading the manual!) and I am sure the ground clearance (but not tested that yet).
Looking at what other bits I may need to get ( a trickle charger seems a must as do locking wheel nuts), any other suggestions?

What a wonderful choice. You will enjoy the Vanquish.
As long as you can see the digital speedo, you may not need worry about much else.
Yes, trickle charger is an essential unless everyday use.
I guess there are exhaust valves on the Vanquish. A fuse can be removed to keep the valves open (close occasionally to avoid sticking), or what I do is use a remote fob to control the valves.

As Jon noted, there's aftermarket exhaust trickery - the Vanquish doesn't have the same system as the Vantage though, so don't go removing any fuses (as it'll disable the ABS if you copy the fuse 15 / 22 routine of a Vantage). You needn't worry about secondary de-cats; the S came from the factory without the secondary's in the first place. It's partly why it's a good chunk louder than a regular car already.

Congratulations, you won’t regret it!
Only essentials are:
1) wind deflector. Really cuts down air turbulence and make longer distances roof down even more agreeable. They’re a good design that fold down pretty small too.
2) sunglasses and driving gloves. Assuming you’re not going to be keeping the roof up all the time.

You can set it in the menus to hold your last sport/comfort setting so that if you were in sport when you turned off, it’ll be back there when you fire up.
ETA: I’d go ctek for the trickle charger. I’ve got them on most of my cars, oldest unit is well over a decade old and never had one fail.
Another thought: tape down the emergency boot release! Mine got caught on a shopping bag, partly pulled out with the effect that the car was displaying “boot open” alert when it was firmly secured. Yet the boot release buttons didn’t do anything. Top make matters worse, as it was a lovely hot summer’s day I’d been to buy lots of ice cream... AM helpline advised that there’s no other way in. Their advice? Diplomatically suggested to drive it like I’d stolen it and try to dislodge whatever’s caught on the handle, or wait and we’ll send someone to do it for me!

I have also fitted Vossen 21" wheels (which also came with the car) which I think make it look slightly better - if this was ever possible.
Oh yeah - here in France (land of the speed humps) the front splitter does get a workout if you're not careful!!!

I remember when I had a Vanquish S demo for a weekend, I went to fill up and upon opening the filler cap, it fell to pieces in my hand. The entire forecourt was filled with other drivers admiring the car, and then noticing me picking up bits of plastic off the floor and trying to re-assemble it, styling it out as if there was a very specific way you do these thing, because it's a special car...After a lot of faffing, I gave up, drove off and parked up in the closed Audi dealer car park not far away. Thinking it was quiet, I started putting it back together, just as a couple drove up to look at the used cars on show. I'm fairly sure they thought I was trying to siphon fuel out of someone's traded in Vanquish.
My years of building race cars, and more importantly, dicking around with LEGO, helped remedy the situation

I owned a 2015 Vanquish that had a fabulous downshift ‘blip’ sound. The sort of rev-match blip that really expert drivers used to do with a manual transmission on downshift. My 2012 Virage had the same sound/feature. Glorious sound.
When I bought my 2018 Vanquish S it also possessed that fabulous downshift ‘blip’, but after being serviced and having the management computer ‘reflashed’, it no longer produced that same sound. Aston Martin just says the car is performing ‘as it should’, but I know it isn’t.....and I miss that sound on downshift.
So, my question is : Does your Vanquish have the rev-matching accelerator blip on downshift?

As regards accessories due to a light int i bought some mats to match the stitching
As i park outside a Windscreen sun shade to keep interior cooler and protect leather
Sec decat's as mine is not an "S"

Mine definitely does it in auto, think also on the paddles. Interestingly the V12VS manual also has rev matching as something you can turn off/on via one of the buttons, which would suggest that it is something that may be possible to disable in the VanquishThe easiest way to see if yours sounds normal is probably to cadge a ride out in someone else’s?
