Phone connections to Aston Martin

Apple Car Play, Bluetooth, Android Auto are frequently talked about on here.

Before selling our cars, should we delete all our personal data, that has been stored on the car's system ?
Our phone contact list for example, might be considered something private to ourselves.

I don't believe Carplay or Android Auto save data to the car, they just mirror the phone. IIRC, the only saved data with those is the car remembers if the last system connection was Apple or Android so it defaults the next time it's used.

Bluetooth on the other hand, does save data to the car - phone books and call lists, so as to speed up the next pairing. So long as you delete the paired device from the car's list of devices, that'll wipe all the data that goes with it.

Sat nav contacts are another one; I expect most of us have forgotten to delete home addresses, recent destinations etc when selling a car. What's worse is that dealers sometimes forget to clear them out also.
