Very low mileage Vantage V8 being auctioned at The Market

I noticed this is up for sale at The Market, having been sold through them a year ago: -

I bid last time but the price got to what I thought was silly high despite the apparent excellent condition and regular servicing. I know that low mileage (8k miles in 14 years for this one) can be attractive but equally I know many cars don't like being stood (seals dry out etc) and wondered what the Aston owners on here experience is?

I also find it odd having adverts generally (not just this one) still now saying 'selling due to not much use during lockdown' as surely now things are opening up and we are being released more then if you have kept a car until now then now is the time to start properly using it.

I really like the colour scheme of this and having decided to buy a convertible as my daily after losing the bidding I bought something else. Hopefully this time around the car will be bought by someone who is going to put some miles on her, it's not often you get to see one that isn't black or silver paint with all black leather inside (nothing wrong with those of course) but it would be a nice sight out and about.

Garage queen - not for me, cars are designed to be used and things start going a bit wrong when they're not. It could be on the original tyres still at that mileage! The estimate of £40-£55k could get you a lot of V8 Roadster elsewhere. If you plan on using it - the "value" of the low miles is washed away and if you don't use it, one could argue you'd be better off not buying it at all

That's why I dropped out of the bidding last time - I usually like a low miles car so I can use a lot (pre the last year world order) and then when I sell on they are 'average mileage' rather than 'high mileage' so I get a decent amount back but with ultra low mileage your point is very valid. I can't remember exactly what the final sale price was last time but seem to remember it was mid to higher end of the current estimate which did then mean other newer cars looked a better bet.

Excepting the clutch which may or may not be a problem and irrespective is a (expensive) consumable, these are very robust cars - I've run two Vantages into the 50k miles league with no problems and that is nothing compared to some on here.

Probably passed down, grandfather, father and then son. My guess is the family run a museum of art, displaying static exhibits.




Pay a premium for ultra low mileage, but if it is then driven normally, that premium disappears.
