Its a beautiful looking car, but I'd rather not have a prototype, which is where they will have found all the things they shouldn't do on the production cars.
Production cars are more common (but not that common, this is a Zagato), but they will be better made, will be easier to maintain, and more reliable. Or am I just being naiive, and whoever buys this won't bother driving it anywhere

Be interesting to see if its worth more or less than a final production run V12 Zagato.

Ok this is interesting! According to Tim C’s astonmartins.com website neither of the two prototypes were in this colour!

When thinking about values (or asking prices), it might be considered quite irrational.
Sit behind the wheel and drive; it looks and feels exactly the same as an £85,000 V12 Vantage.
Get out and look around the car; those different panels are supposed to be worth £500,000.
Funny old world.
(PS. Is this one of the two cars which raced in the 24 hours at Nurburgring ?
Is the odometer therefore correct ? Zig and Zag I think they were called.

..... or the other way of looking at it Jon, is when new a V12V would have cost you around £125k so you would have lost about £50k since then.
If you had bought a V12 Zagato however for just shy of £400k, you would now be sitting on a rather tasty £175k profit.
So in fact the Zag's worked out to be £225k cheaper to own that a std V12 Vantage!

Wasn't there a significant weight saving on the Zagato carbon fibre body? I saw something from Bamford Mike years ago that said the Zag was quoted as being the same weight as a standard Vantage, but he thought that was just a clerical oversight, because the car moved like a much lighter car.
