Thoughts please?

Hi all!

Looking to see if anyone has encountered the same problem as I have in my DB9.

Drivers seat rear incline doesn't work, it will go down but not up. Dealer tried a recalibration, then thought it was needing a new squab kit, which they fitted and then said it hasn't fixed the problem. Seat switches also checked and are ok. Now they are saying it needs a new seat base.

If that's what it is then it'll have to be changed, but what I can't understand is how the motor can work in one direction and not the other.

Anyone has similar and views on how it got rectified?

Important question is who’s paying. Sounds like typical “let’s replace everything and see what eventually fixes it” without actually identifying the root cause.

If you’re paying I wouldn’t let them go any further until you’ve had some input from the helpful chaps on here.

Apologies if I'm telling granny to suck eggs but have you tried the reset yourself? I had same problems with both my DB9s, simply move the seat all the way forward as far as it will go then turn off and on again. That was a common problem and fixed it every time. Could be something completely different but happened to me MANY times

Agreed, not letting the garage go any further as I'm not confident they do really know what's wrong. Thanks for the link will check it out.

Yes, I have tried the reset myself, and that unfortunately doesn't clear it.

I’d try pulling the fuse (I think it’s fuse F85 in the footwell fusebox), press some of the seat button to get rid of any residual power, refit fuse and then try a full seat recalibration.
