DB9 made for the Jap market

Hopefully this won’t offend, but is anyone able to advise re the white convertible DB9 on Autotrader, if not on the specific car, thoughts about cars made for this market

Aston don't make cars for specific markets. One design for all markets. They then test in different markets / environments. I wouldn't expect any major differences for the Japanese market. Link to the advert so we can have a better look

You may find the radio frequencies are different and the tracker may not register on the UK networks. The Sat Nav will also be different region and the dash will be in kilometers but other than that, it should be the same as a UK car.

It looks as if the km to miles has been sorted, as has the navigation.

Cars are built to order so it would be tom the buyers specification. If that was a Japanese buyer then I guess that would count as a Japanese specification

USA uses different headlamps and tail lights than ROW. Makes importing a US model to mainland Europe a very expensive proposition: $20k to replace on a Vanquish.

And USA bumpers are different iirc, some manufacturers apparently have different engine cooling setups for very hot climates.

Ok thanks, the main issue is obviously the speedo and that's sorted, so I guess it's a chat with the dealer next.

For the digital readout you just press a couple of buttons and it changes km to miles and vice versa. Useful for continental trips

I thought the numbers stacked up quite well (with a small discount) considering this cars age/mileage............I’ve no experience regarding Astons so happy to be corrected.
To my untrained eyes it’s looks like the nicest convertible in this price range!

MoT history has changed from km to miles more than once. -
There was an MoT in Nov 2020 and strangely, again in Feb 2021.
Mileage appears to indicate, it might have been for sale since before Nov 2020.

I looked at that online last November and despite a number of emails and attempted phone calls to the selling dealer I couldn’t get answers to queries I had. They are selling it as a 2011 although IIRC it’s actually a 2009 built car.

Edited to add it says 2009 in the description.

Not Aston specific, but I believe seat belt regulations are different, and seat belt tensioner set for lighter body weight. Also common for cars to have less/no underseal given roads aren’t salted here.
