It must be very realistic. Note how the prospective customer is crouching down, perhaps about to sit in the car.
Would be funny if he does sit down - without a seat. -
As daft as it might seem, it's good technology to be embracing at a time when few car makers are, at least on the customer side of things. Aston's forever seen as being behind the curve, but building an augmented reality configuration tool is quite a large, positive move. As a customer you'd still have access to the material samples for a real world look at colour combinations, but the virtual environment allows a unique look at a spec.
If the shoe was on the other foot, and Bentley were offering it while Aston customers had to use an identical configurator in a dealer to that which is available at home via the website, there'd soon be complaints that they weren't doing a good enough job.
I've briefly used an Oculus type system for construction work; it's clever, immersive and feels very authentic but initially it can be quite disorientating. I hope they insist that you're sat down initially, else dealers will be dealing with RIDDOR's quite quickly...

I used this at AM when I ‘specced’ my last car, and I have to say it was very good - so they have certainly had this technology around for a few years. They did have someone standing nearby to make sure I didn’t do something silly like try to sit down on the seat or walk too far away whilst catching external views.
I found I did tend to crouch to put my head through the door aperture when stood outside if that makes sense!
