Hey all. Wanted to open up a chat around the AM Vanquish having had it for 2.5 years and to see if owners felt the same as me about the beautiful beast, the good, the bad and any advice.

- Still love it. Every time I look at it the looks are not wearing. For a 6 year old car and the general public still agree
- Residuals seem good and in fact in the last 6 months seem to be going up? Perhaps depreciated by 10% in my time but having had 50% off prior to purchase thats happy days right?
- DB11/New vantage. Not jealous of those in the slightest, reflected in their residuals.
- DBS Super is the only next step, but still doesn't tug on the heart strings like a Vanquish. Has the air of Merc production lines, rather than Bob with a screwdriver creating beauty.
- Love the carbon fibre body and the sheer volume of manual craftsmanship.
- I hate the sat nav still. Tried to push AM to update it but all refused saying it could cause issues
- I DETEST the indicator stalks. WTH.... they are inferior to my 320d '57 plate
- The seats. Beautiful but no lateral hold at all. Want to stuff the insides to create bucket seats!
- As advised by a learned Pistonheader, yes always in Sport and manul shifting!
- No issues with service or MOT.... touch wood! Stoped paying warranty over a year ago, thats £3k saved.
- Fitted Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, far superior to the "specially manufactored" standard P-Zero.
- 6-speed / Carbon black / random interior variants seem to really dent value?
- Vanquish S 2017 only more expensive due to age. Perhaps the 2015-17 is considered more elegant?

Over all Love it, literally.... Starting to agree with the vom inducing dating sites that perfect imperfections exist and applies to this car only! Feel the car is a great investment and with the new ownership of AM, F1 exposure, surely the last of the handmade AM's is wise purchase, both emotionally and financially....?

When an Aston Martin model is as beautiful as yours Mark, we can all forgive a few imperfections.
V12 N/A, wonderful.
Aston Installations have been mentioned on here. They might have something to help with your satnav.

I also love the vanquish - I remember being told on a factory tour (albeit pre ipo) that it would be the last carbon fibre body AM .... be interesting to see if that changes.

My Aston journey has taken me from V8 Vantage to V12 vantage to Vanquish then DBS Superleggera.
Ive just gone back to the Vanquish non S 8 speed. For me thats the sweet spot.

David

Not biased and totally agree.

Looked at all the new Astons when mine went in for service last week and they all look too wide and TBH bland.

I too will be keeping my Vanquish for a long time as nothing else interests me at the moment.

Also had my 2015 Vanquish (volante) for two years and agree with everything you said, even down to the PS4's. I have done a secondary cat by-pass and fitted a loud switch for occasional use. It's not really a sports car in the true sense but what a GT. Every time I look at it I realise what a looker it is.

Have thought about changing it but would need to spend lots more for little gain.

2015 8-Speed is also the sweet spot for me. I upgraded to AMi III for Sat Nav and think it is great. Also the secondary cat bypass is well worth it.

As for the seats, there were very few Vanquish interiors I approved of, but was lucky to find one with the very rare lightweight seat option. V12 N/A, Carbon Fibre bodyshell, the looks - cannot see me ever parting with it as long as I am driving.

Really enjoying mine. Done 1k miles since I bought it. No issues as of yet, doesn't seem many reported.

I don't see them going down much further at the oldest examples.

Support all the comments made here. Moved from a V8VS to a 2015 8Sp Vanquish after a day at the AM driving experience where you get to drive a number of their modern fleet.

It is superb - quicker than almost any other but a wonderful super GT and personally I think it is one of the most beautiful of that era of cars. last of the legendary 6L V12 cars and probably last of the all carbon fibre cars too - imagine it will be a future classic.

Wonderful to drive and tighter at speed than the DB9 GT and DBS (2008 - era) plus it has a wonderful exhaust note and personally I think the 8Sp box much better suits it as a super GT.

No issues either in 18months (touch wood) bar a loose tyre pressure monitor and new battery.

They are all ultimately wonderful cars and part of a very special club so whichever you choose, drive and enjoy!

Its one of the last great Astons I'd say. My first ever brand new Aston was a Vanquish, it felt really special. I then went to the Vanquish S and that was amazing, the last of the N/A V12s, they should all be keepers for sure!

ohh, I had almost forgotten about your car. That is still to this day the nicest Vanquish interior I have seen. The lightweight seats really do make a huge difference, and yes the AMi III Sat Nav really is great. Such as shame that AM abandoned that tech just as they had got it just right in favour of the new gen Merc stack. Hey Ho.

Anyway, your car is truly very special! smile

Love those seats... imagine they make it more difficult for adults to get in the back of the supposed 4 seater. 😂 Bet you enjoy motorway turn offs that little more!

The Db9 Gt was my first option but the extra money for the Vanquish and considering the RRP it made sense for Vanquish. Not driven a dbs... would try the stick version gladly.

Wow that's some history! Imagine the dbs being insanely quick and benefits from low rev power so the 6,000 revs+ not needed that much?

New owner of a 2014 Vanquish. No it does not have the 8 speed, but I found it in the spec I wanted, so beggers can't be choosers! Enjoying it so far!
