Finally a dry day to clean and get some photos

First chance since getting her for a clean and some photos. Yes I know the plinth has to go I'm waiting for the Larini exhaust to turn up at Trinity then they can do plinth removal at the same time! 3 weeks, REALLY happy with the car. It really shouldn't be able to handle the way it does but I'd say its on par with my previous Vanquish S!

Have you considered just pulling out the exhaust fuse and secondary decatting it? I think that's the way we are going to go with ours...

A great idea, I will do my best to pull together a list of all the substantial upgrades that the AMR has over an "S".

The car is beautfiul, and has a presence in the flesh that is almost unequalled in all AM models of recent times. Quite possibly the most beautiful of all, and somewhat of a sleeping giant, and relatively less known about.

At a car show this weekend we took Kermit and the AMR Rapide, I was asked as many questions about the Rapide as I was Kermit, which given the bold vs reserved colour choices was saying something. One person mistook it for a Vanq Zagato... I guess due to the Zagato running lights at the front.

Correct no rear infotainement was available in the AMR. I think the visuals are provided in high "speed" definition by looking out of the windows, and the 595bhp V12 soundtrack more than enough to keep any potential young petrolhead entertained!

Looks fantastic and usually a clever number plate makes me cringe - but looks 11/10 on this. Enjoy (I mean, hard not to - right?).

Looks great - aside from the black wheels. Just me I’m sure, but I really don’t see the point of black wheels that don’t show the detail/design.

Yes going for the secondary cat option. I would have liked the rear box sorting also but they said there's simply not enough of the Rapaide AMRs out there to make it worth developing it

It's worth checking, but I thought the AMR had the same exhaust setup as the Vanquish S, and hence came from the factory already without secondary cats. This might be duff information though, I've never had the chance to poke around underneath one to see.

Its under the rear passenger side seat. A little fiddly to get to but can be done by removing the footwell carpet.

The AMR Rapide most definitely has secondary cats, I have looked under the car to check and sure enough they are there.

To be honest I thought the Vanquish S did too, but it does seem a strange anomaly that they both claim the 595bhp engine output when the AMR Powerkit / GT12 only achieved this with removal of the secondary cats.

That's interesting; every day's a school day. That'll make a racket once they've been whipped out

Yup and the fuse out!

We've already taken the fuse out on ours and was a tasty step up in volumne, but still not as loud as Kermit with the decat and fuse out, albeit only with the standard 563bhp output.

I think Mark may beat us to the cat bypass, as will be a couple of weeks before we get ours done I suspect now.

Very nice indeed, it really is a 4 seater sports car, and the rear doors almost blend in completely. Astons always look great in black ...for a while anyway
