Get Flocked a helpful hint for a DIY job

I was annoyed that the felt is wearing off my rubber door seals where you tend to rub when getting in to the car and there were thinning bald patches showing on the seal where it used to be felt/furry .
I did a bit of hunting and found a product caled a flocking kit for covering dash boards or craft items like cutlery trays or boxes etc. It is microscopic nylon threads that are either electrostatically attracted and glued to a surface like rubber or plastic etc. I cleaned the patchy area applied the glue ,puffed the nylon threads onto the glue, allowed 8 hrs to dry and no more patchy felt covered rubber seals.
Its a lot cheaper than a new set of seals for a vanquish and is almost 100%again. There is a tiny bit more to do . Here is a picture or 2.

Thanks for this Astontony. Just ordered a kit off fleabay in Jet Black to touch up the seals on my V8V between the door glass and the rear quarter. I wondered about Anthracite, but think the existing seal flocking doesn't look to have any grey at all.
The advantage is that I'll just repair the visible bit between the two glass panes (where the previous owner appears to have cleaned them with a Scotchbrite pad - he seems to have used the same technique on the grille vanes too
) so if it doesn't match the rest of the seal exactly it won't matter as I'm only really interested in the appearance when the doors are shut and it's bound to look better than patchy bald rubber.
I'll report back when I'm done.

Great, the process is easy , a bit daunting to start with, don't overload with glue and work reasonably quickly as the glue does become non tacky quite quickly so get all your ducks in a row before you apply the glue and leave overnight before closing the door so the glue has hardened properly.
