Have the dealer selling asking prices recently increased?

I had a quick look - hardly any for sale in the £80s now. Lowest price I found was about £89,000.
Many over £100,000.

Yes, seem to have increased in last couple of weeks.

I have been sniffing round and cars that were up for mid 90’s now back up over 100K.

If you are not in a hurry, in November/December/January there might be quite a few extra (2019) Vantages in the market place.

All used car prices are on the up.

Not enough stock to meet current demand.

Slightly; a few used models have seen residuals improve marginally recently. Rapide AMR being one, along with early 4.0 Vantages and early V12 DB11's.

The Vantage is in something of a bubble, because while values of used ones might increase slightly over the coming months as there's not enough supply to meet demand, it's likely that in November and December there'll be a glut of them re-appearing, initially via BCA, but the nicer examples will get snapped up by dealers quickly and perhaps reverse any price increase we're seeing. Some fag packet maths suggests that if you take whatever the balloon payment was on those PCP deals and add £8-10k you'll get to the ballpark of what MD's will re-advertise them at.

It's too early to say that the switch to build-to-order has worked, but the signs are quite encouraging that the 'unloved' models Aston now produces, are starting to settle (and increase) in used values. In the case of early DB11's, I'm certainly content with the current value versus what I picked mine up for.

Of course there's two sides to this coin; if you're looking at these cars to buy one, you might say they're still too expensive and the 4.0 Vantage is only appealing when it becomes a £60k car. If you're already in one, you might say it's holding its money fairly well. The great big shiny crystal ball of nonsense suggests that 4.0 Vantage values might take a tumble between say December 2021 and April 2022, but they aren't about to become a £60k car just yet IMO.

Yep, a nicely spec'd DB11 or Vanq both seem hard to find and the prices look to have increased somewhat.

We do live in strange times - the guide on this one is not a million miles away to a 1 owner same year 11k mile 4.7 s roadster also at same place.

Prices do seem to have gone up across the board.

I think it was Reading (maybe) who had a V12SMR 2-3 weeks ago up for £145k.........it appeared to have sold within a couple of days (or at least it wasn't advertised anymore). That's pretty strong money.

We've seen this before though with V12V's.....they go up, they go down. I think the whole property and premium car market in the UK is pretty wonky at the moment, but what do I know.

Good point, thanks. No real rush as I have a nice 911 to play in right now but have an “itch” for a Vantage.

Yes, at the end of this year a batch of 4 litre Vantages are expected to be on the market, so you might then have a wider choice of specification.

Do you prefer the 4 litre turbo automatic Vantage, to the (2009 to 2017) 4.7 litre naturally aspirated model (manual and automated manual) ?

Its also true of older ones. I have a 06 V8V (50k miles) and have been asking WBAC for a price for 6 months (keep pondering) and its risen in "value" by 5k since March! They are now offering £25,360 which is pretty bonkers

I have had similar (lower price as 74k miles). Texts once a month from WBAC with an increase of £1k a time.

It's bonkers. I understand the BCA, WBAC, Cinch business model but I can't see where buying old sports cars for strong money fits. Are these cars making top money at auction? Specialists (McGurk etc) seem to be putting them out at mid-high 30s

Maybe it’s just to get you down to the valuation centre - where they insert the discounting rod up your back passage.....

Well, they both sold over guide, but the new vantage got the most cash - but no service history as it was a repo.

Small point. If it was one of the 1K+(23×1k) cars, I think they incorporated the offer of free servicing during the PCP period.

Are you allowed to mention figures ?

Hi Jon, no not sure it would not be right for me to share figures in a public forum but let’s just say it starts with an 8 but of course there are fees on top of that which could push total costs to beginning with a 9 depending on status of buyer.

but the new vantage was on owner 2 and registered in 2018 so I don’t think that would have been a special offer car would it?
