Headlamp mount fixed

So as part of stripping down and refreshing the front end of my Vantage, I discovered that the headlamp mount was cracked so I thought I’d have a go at fixing it.
You can see the cracks on the mount then radiate and spread into the rear housing, so just a matter of time before the whole unit failed.
The star shape makes a repair tricky so first job was to remove the webs.
I then chased out the cracks with a little Drexel attachment and applied an acrylic adhesive to these areas.
Next I figured I’d beef up the area a little, so got hold of some woven carbon fibre tape and export and hand a go at some wet layup.
Once it was all cured it was then trimmed back.
Quite pleased with the result, especially for my first go at composites, a few areas of low resin but I reckon it should be stronger now than from the factory.
