In comparison, Rolls Royce, Lamborghini and Bugatti must be peanuts in the VW revenue and profits, so maybe they have decided that having three image marques is not necessary.

Seem to be only selling 55% though.

Over the years, we have been so used to seeing a succession of sports car companies, including start-ups fail.
Wonderful how Rimac, which appears to have had modest beginnings, has progressed so far in such a short time.
Rimac began in 2009 and another successful sports car firm Koenigsegg started in 1994.

Rimac are seen by Bugatti and VAG as the ones to watch in EV cars. I guess they see them as a way to compete with Tesla going forward.

Rolls Royce belongs to BMW not to VW.

Very interesting how a small scale sports car maker sets up business, then just 12 years later a giant of the industry wants an involvement.

Can anyone recall anything like that happening before in the motor industry ?

Maybe I have missed it - but I don’t recall Tesla having such a partnership ?

Who would have imagined 10 years ago that Chrysler, Jeep, Fiat, Opel, Dodge, Maserati, Vauxhall, Ram, Mopar, Alfa, Lancia, Peugeot, Citroen, etc etc would all be owned by the French (still with French government shareholding !)

Just goes to show how quickly it’s all changing....
