DBS V12 08-12 Quicksilver Sport or Supersport

Hi guys want to do some slight weight shaving and hopefully better exhaust note. As dont want to pull the fuse.

Can anyone recommend the difference in sound of sport vs supersport of quicksilver exhausts seem to not be able to find comparisons on Youtube.

I can accept louder exhaust but really dont want Drone on the highway level speeds of 70-90mph.

Also anywhere with good deals to purchase these exhaust. Seems like Astonmartin parts had a 20% discount but that was since March.

I did the quicksilver x pipes and that was on my db9 it actually made it quieter so I had the shop cut some internals out of the standard rear box and that made a world of difference. I would go with the sports as the dbs is already a loud beast.

Quicksilver doesn’t make an x pipe for DB9?

I had the supersport on my V12v and it was loud but sounded fantastic

If its not a very daft question why do you not want to pull the fuse but you do want to fit either a QS sport or SS exhaust? You do know that neither of these exhausts have any valves, so in effect both have the same effect as deleting the fuse anyway, on top of the noise increase they both offer.

Also only the Titanium versions offer any significant weight saving over the std OEM but looks like QS don't offer a Titanium version for the DBS anyway.

You will get drone on a motorway with either removing the fuse or fitting an exhaust that doesn't have valves.

THE solution :
Second hand Stainless steel Vanquish 2012on backbox with valves... Minus 12kg !
(Same backbox than Vantage V12S buts these don't fit)
I have Fabspeed X-pipe too,
(An X-pipe decrease the sound with minus 3db)

What Adam said, worth noting that for £60 you can buy the remote control solution to the fuse pull, takes 2 minutes to install and you can have open or closed as you like. If you buy a modified rear box you will lose "the sensible" noise option.

A good mix would be keep rear section, add remote unit then replace secondary cat section, improved exhaust note and also controllable with remote.

I’m taking a quicksilver supersports exhaust off mine as it’s a little too loud for me. It will available in a couple of weeks, if you’re interested drop me a pm.

Edited to add If you’re anywhere near Chesterfield you can come and listen to it on mine although I’ve had secondary cats removed so it’s louder than it would be if you still have them.

Having just fitted mine recently I can wholly recommend this. Surely if anything it'd be a good stop gap for you until you see what route you might want to go down if the remote doesn't do the trick for you.
