Running issue with 2006 V8 Vantage

Recently I've had a problem with my 2006 v8 Vantage. I had a minor accident where I went over a branch in the road. It was quite a jolt to the car. After just a few seconds, it was starting to cut out. I got a message on the dash saying engine service urgent. I restarted the car and it seemed to be ok. However, within a few mins I could feel that the car was not pulling correctly and responded with erractically when I tried to accelerate. Eventually, I got the same message again. I was able to get the car home. Since then, I've not used the car that much but need to get the issue resolved. The worst of the jolt was taken on the passenger side. I suspected a fuse or relay may have come loose but I've checked them all and they seem ok. On a recent attempt to diagnose the issue, I went on a few laps around my neighborhood and things seemed to be ok. However, this was at no more than 40mph. If I go on a local bypass, then I start to see the same issue again. My dealer is about 50 miles from home so not exactly practical to get to. For now, I'm after suggestions on what I could check myself at home.

You say your dealer is 50 miles from your home, I guess you mean main dealer?

If so, do you not have a local independent closer to have me that can take a look for you?

Reading BigZedd’s post I wondered if there was a problem with the emissions control system and perhaps running over the branch had disconnected or damaged one of the O2 sensors in the exhaust.

Ideally you need someone to hook up an OBD reader to see what DCTs the car is throwing up

I use a cheap code reader. Easy enough and between £12---£30.
