Very low milage DB9 - issues to look for.

I'm looking at a very low milage DB9 around 700 per year with full AMSH. Are there any things that might not be covered by standard servicing / warranty that I should look for that could negatively effected by lack of use. Many thanks MSB.

Things we found with a low mileage DB9 with 'full' AMSH that we re-commissioned and sold last year. It was a really good, mint car but.....

- Air Filters had never been changed

- Pollen Filter had never been changed

- Brake Fluid changed only once (this is common which is bizarre as AM dealer only charges £80 and says same customers who refuse will then walk into showroom and spend £150 on an umbrella!)

- Air-Con service never done and needed recharge

- Battery required replacing

- Tyre pressure sensors required replacing

- Coolant change had never been done

- Diff oil had never been changed

Budget £1500 for the above

In addition we had to change all pulleys and tensioners at around £1K (tip - these are Ford (possibly Transit) parts if you can get the part numbers.

I take it you are a Reading fan. Same here.

Worth looking at the DVLA website MOT page to see if any advisories are in effect.

I would be looking for leaks especially in the dampers and front engine timing cover, mine had these on a 4 year old Vanquish with just over 8K miles when purchased.

All covered under the AM Timeless warranty, statement from Gaydon was due to lack of use and seals dried out unfortunately the supplying AM dealer also missed these on the Timeless inspection but were found by an independent inspection soon after purchase.

Check the dampers in a car that has no miles. They tend to weep through lack of use!
