Aston powered by cheese and wine !

Just saw this interview with Prince Charles on the BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-58865883 where he says his 51 year old Aston runs on white wine and cheese curd. Does this mean at the next fuel shortage I might have to sacrifice my wine cellar to keep the DB11 going ? It would be a hard choice to make.

Yup do a quote on my reply above and compare the syntax of the URL in the [ ] in your post to mine and you’ll see where you went wrong. Formatting help link above the edit box also gives you the correct syntax to use.

I was puzzled by this. I compared the faulty link, with the one which does work and could not spot any difference.

When I post a hyperlink, I simply copy and paste the webpage url. No formatting involved.
After doing the 'Submit' though, I always check to make sure that the link does work.

The funny part of the film was at the very end, where the interviewer began eating berries from a tree. Prince Charles began to say something, but the film then suddenly ended.

Ok I will try and explain. There are two basic forms of valid syntax for a URL link... in the examples below I will use round brackets ( ), but in the real links you must use square brackets [ ] for it to work.

The first is a simple straight forward link. The syntax is:

(url)https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/artcile123(/url)

Thats it - nice and simple. the link displays as the actual url itself. This is all you ever really need to know to keep it simple.


The second type is where you can substitute a display tag to show in the post instead of the url itself. The syntax for this is very similar, but uses a = and moves the actual URL inside the first set of square brackets, with the following part then used as the display tag. This is the syntax.

(url=https://bbb.co.uk/news/article123)BBC News article number 123 about bananas9(/url)


In the link the OP first used he used the second type, but he put no actual URL after the =, meaning the link itself was to nothing, but he did put the URL in the display tag, meaning it LOOKED like it was valid, but this was only the display tag.

So the OP's link going nowhere link was like this. The critical thing is the = which changes the syntax to the second form.

(url=)https://bbc.co.uk/news/artcile123(/url)

I believe more accurately, the car is converted to run on E85 (85% ethanol) of which some components originally orientate from wine and cheese whey byproducts.

Haha yeah, that made me chuckle too.... Wonder what he was going to say, "oh dont, those are the ones that will give you the rather upset tummy...."
