Clock won’t adjust

Just wondering if anyone can help, my clock won’t change time, it works perfectly well but is an hour fast. I’ve tried to change it with the joy stick, you can set the correct time press enter but nothing happens

Any advice would be appreciated

Not sure about on your car…….but on my 06 V8V there are two little inset buttons by the clock on the dash. Need to use a cocktail stick to get to them. One for minutes and one for hours.

If your car has the updated centre console (second of the three versions, ie no buttons to set the clock) it’s done via the sat nav. Every time I’ve had an issue I’ve been unable to set it myself, and I’ve asked my dealer to do it for me. I’m not sure how it’s done, possibly resetting a fuse, or a battery disconnect. The problem with manually setting the time via the sat nav is that it can only be adjusted in larger increments, I think eleven minutes or something? You really would think it should be so much easier to do it yourself! Good luck.

With my £500 ex-repmobile type car, which is used only for transporting garden rubbish, the change to GMT is achieved by simply pressing one button!

Gave up trying on my Vantage. It will begin sleeping soon, so the clock will magically be correct again next Spring.
The sat. nav. says it is in contact with 6 satellites. Surely that should be more than enough to sort the clock.

My Macan connects to 9 satellites so maybe that’s the problem? (Smile)

The problem I usually get is that the analogue clock gets out of sync with the time displayed on the sat nav screen, and runs five or six minutes fast. The only way to adjust the time is through the sat nav menu, and I can never get it to change properly when this happens. I really should ask the dealer what they do to align both clocks, as surely it can’t be that difficult to do it yourself if you know the procedure?!

The clock in my V8VS is exactly the same and was like it when i bought it. Unfortunately, the only way I found to resync the analog clock with the sat nav was to disconnect the battery but doing so resets seat settings, window drop etc. A year and a bit later and the clock is once again approx 5 fast however i havent bothered resyncing because of the hassle. If anyone knows of another way (fuse pull perhaps?) of forcing it to resync without a battery disconnect It would be of great help.

Hi guys and gals, I spoke with Aston Martin Works today as I get the car serviced there, they haven’t come across this problem before on my model of car, they said to cycle the windows for a reset, then the roof, then disconnect the negative from the battery, leave for five minutes or so then reconnect and see if that sorts it, I’ll be doing that in the morning. They mentioned for cars with the later Garmin sat nav which mine isn’t you can change the time through the sat nav. I’ll let you know what happens tomorrow.

Unrelated to your issue but my car does have the garmin system works spoke about, and the analogue clock is always out of sync with the nav system time. If I change the time on the nav it adjusts the analogue clock by the same amount, so they never correspond lol. It’s an aston sir, they all do that.

To change the clock? Blimey. I'd leave it until spring when it wil be right again!

I like my two buttons - one forward, one back.

Are you guys sure it's that complicated? I have the second dashboard design (2011 car, so no holes near the clock) but I simply press Menu, Car Settings, Clock and here it is.

The whole GPS synch could be for the third and latest dashboard design?

Pretty sure that any car with the Garmin nav system gets its time from the GPS satellites. If you change the time in the "Settings" then, in my experience at least, you'll set the analogue clock that way but nav system will still read a different time. If you use the "ETA" setting and then set a destination less than an hour away you can find the nav system will calculate that you'll arrive before you leave.

Right, the keyword being "Garmin". I have the previous GPS and I never saw any time discrepancies.

I think this is the whole issue. The Garmin system works differently to the previous Volvo based one. I’ve read my owners manual again today and it’s fairly clear. Models with no sat nav, the clock can be adjusted through the Car Settings menu as suggested by EVR. But if there is a Garmin sat nav installed, the analogue clock is controlled through there. I can’t actually check my car right now, but when I can, I will scroll through the menus and see if I’ve missed something. I think if it was that easy though, I’m sure someone on here would have mentioned it before, or my dealer would have.
