Trans Axle Oil Change

I am going to be changing the Transaxle oil in my V8 Vantage in the next few weeks. When sourcing the drain plug washer and the filter O ring, Aston and specialists only sell these in packs of 10 at £2.18 per item. When they arrive I will keep 3 of each for my self and will sell the rest at cost plus postage. Anybody who is interested please message me

I changed the gear oil in my manual V8 earlier this year and got a single washers from Aston Martin Bits, well x2 copper washers and 1x o ring. Not cheap at £2.38 a washer and £4.00 for the O ring plus postage but needs must.

Just make sure you get the right oil. I got Opie as recommended by Rich at Redpants (good useful how to videos) but still get that stiff cold 1st to 2nd change. I understand Castrol have a special 'Aston' oil (BR Video somewhere that gives you the exact spec) that is supposed to be the go to oil to use to solve this problem.

Have fun getting that undertray off. For me that was the hardest part. Lots of swearing, impact driver use and finally a dremmel and cold chisel for the one bolt that just would not move.

Clearly I’m not checking Aston parts shops well enough. Too late to cancel my order as they have shipped. Not looking forward to getting the under tray off. Hopefully won’t be too bad.
Changed my door gas struts yesterday which went well apart from grazed hand and 1 screw left over 😂

I had half an hour free so changed the oil on the weekend. But will replace the seals on the next change so still need them.
