Disable power-fold mirrors

Is it really a main dealer task?

I've just got my rather excellent car cover from Specialised Covers and when fitted, the mirrors won't fold in.

I'm not that precious about folding mirrors, so I assumed it would just be some weird button combination (a bit like parking the wipers at mid-stroke). However, the manual says I should speak with my dealer, who I guess will want to charge me handsomely for the privilege of plugging in a laptop for a few seconds.

Is there another way? - can I just pull a fuse or does it cover other stuff too? (like mirror adjustment)

You can do this via the menu on the stereo. Can't remember exactly, but it's in there.

Sorry - should have mentioned - 2007 4.3, not a 4.7

Disconnect the battery for a short while. Yes you'll have to reset windows and radio etc but your auto-powerfold will be gone.
