Software shutting down and restarting

Bought a 2017 Vanquish S a few weeks ago and the software keeps closing and restarting whilst driving.

Using carplay so not sure if this is creating the issue, the car has just been serviced so i assume its running the latest software, maybe there’s something in ios settings that doesnt agree with the car?

ios has just been updated so maybe this is causing the issue as the first couple of weeks using it i didnt notice any problems..

Anyone else getting issues since ios update or any other ideas?

What firmware are you running? Sounds very much like you have an early version that was super buggy and crashed all the time. The later versions improved stability a lot. A service would not update the firmware unless you specifically raised the issue of crashing they do not patch it.

Huh? I had assumed he was talking about the infotainment given the mention of updating the phone ios version???

Thanks, yes, the infotainment.

I’ll check tomorrow, i’m guessing with it shutting down, the update would be foc? (AM warrantied)

Got my vanquish volante updated on purchase from AM newcastle to the latest update so yes should be FOC.

Yes if the car is under extended AM warranty, perhaps not if it has run out however. Updates were foc in the first 3 years factory warranty for sure.

Had a similar problem about 2 weeks ago. Take it to the dealer for a firmware upgrade. It solved by problem . Check my post and explanation it should be back a few pages.

I had the same issue with my 2017 Vanquish S volante - its only happened a few times in the past couple of years...and I'm using Apple carplay too.
Which annoyingly only connects via a cable in the left side usb port in the armrest (facing forward)
Next time I'm reunited with the car I'll check the firmware.

Just picked up my S Volante a couple of weeks back. Noticed on inspection that the software was the original version so got them to update prior to delivery. I think its supposed to be part of timeless inspection or service anyway, but i imagine it gets overlooked.

Thank you, i have an rdv with AM Bordeaux tomorrow for a snapped handbrake cable so hoping they can do this update as well (if it needs it)

Will have a look in the menus to see what it’s currently running..

The Timeless inspection does indeed cover a software check, maybe it got overlooked..

seems everything is quite a way behind on mine! Reading Adams post on infotainment from 2017! Mine seems to be that

A bit worrying as its had 4 services since 2017 and according to AM online, the system is meant to be updating during service intervals.

Eta: re-read, software update ‘checks’ are included as part of servicing, hmmm…
