Paint problem V8V 2006

I have just noticed this pimpling on the paint above the drivers door handle. I guess it’s related to the dreaded galvanitic corrosion. What do I need to do? I am pretty sure it wasn’t there last week. Car is kept outside

The anti-corrosion warranty is 10 years so a bit late for that. You could try to take it to your nearest dealer and see if they offer to help, maybe a contribution towards having the door re-sprayed at their body shop.

Take it to a decent bodyshop. Ignore the AM dealer, if they contribute it will have Aston tax added. Cheaper going direct. Most AM dealers don't have their own body / paint workshop

I think you are really pushing your luck with corrosion on a 16 year old car that's left outside. I am sure the dealers will probably point out the same and if they do undertake doing it and give you a 30% goodwill gesture, they will probably be 50% more expensive than a quality independent body shop anyway.

Most dealer associated body shops often don’t turn out very good work from my experience. Seen some hideous dealer paint jobs.

On further investigation it appears to be micro blistering due to moisture. I’m pretty sure of this as there is a tiny bit on a front wing and that’s plastic. I’ve checked paint thickness and the doors, rear and front wings and roof have a thickness that implies no respray whereas the bonnet is twice as thick than expected which indicates a re spray. Can’t tell on front bumper as it has ppf. To be honest I’m not impressed if factory paint was not applied properly.
