Recommendations for London (ish) based workshop for V12VS

I need to have the backbox replaced on my V12VS due to seized valves, and unfortunately it's a bumper off job. I already have the replacement part, I just need to find somewhere to get it fitted. AM works (where I normally go) are quoting £550 for just the labour. Does anyone have any recommendations for vaguely London based workshops that don't charge the full Aston hourly rate, but which would still do a good job?

Honestly I'd do it myself if it wasn't bumper off...

Trinity Engineering but they are South of of London now

How far are you willing to travel? And I guess it depends which side of London you are on.

A few places not too far if you can travel, Vantage Engineering near Guildford and Pheonix Aston in Basingstoke ... Just a few stops down the M3 if you are on that side.

Are you sure it’s a bumper off jobbie ? On the V8V you can drop the silencer without removing the bumper.

The exhaust tips are held on with a bolt on each tip, this allows the section to come off and the silencer to drop down, clearing the bumper.

I’m not talking about the chrome tips by the way, the bit that sits inside it.



The valves themselves can be cut out and new ones welded in. AstonMartinBits have them, although they’re also available elsewhere at lower cost.

Have a google and you’ll find them.

I did that if you need pictures, info, etc. The official valves are also on sale at DAE.

Thank you for the help with the valves - but I managed to source a very low miles OEM V12VS backbox for the same price as just the supply of the valves

I've used AHM which is just down the M3, took the car there to replace both Co2 sensors, the owner seems like a real enthusiast.
